For an all-day smoke, I prefer an aromatic, and I smoke 1Q on a daily basis, but I mix in a hefty portion of Lane's BCA and Burley Lite. Of course these are just my opinions after smoking pipes for 30 years; yours may be entirely different. As far as the strength goes, it's probably akin to smoking a mild cigarette. It adds just a little "something" in smaller proportions, namely a sweetness, and can help mellow out a Latakia-rich blend like a charm. Taste is fairly subdued with swirls of chocolate, vanilla, and coffee from time to time. I have found other black Cavendish blends that are so sticky from the casings that the tobacco sticks to my fingers when I fill my pipe!! It is a little more difficult to keep lit. When I do this is one of the tobaccos I choose to puff on along with RLP-6 which is another blend from Lane! Each pipe packs a bit differently with out the air time. The tobacco taste is light as it's sublimated by the toppings, but it does account for the toastiness and grass. A very mild, tasty smoke. But just a few puffs in, you'll realize why. It has a lot of flavor, and you know you are smoking a tobacco. Look for some that is more coarsely constructed. A couple of relights, but with some gentle puffing, it burned quite nicely all the way to the bottom of the bowl. BCA is one of those I like to have handy because its good for a number of reasons; new friends can smoke it easily, and it blends well with just about anything.
